Blaircourt Equine Clinic provides 24 hour care for all types of horses from competition to foals, covering the entire Essex region.
By prior arrangement, calls further afield may be considered.
Blaircourt Equine Veterinary Clinic has been in existence for over 25 years.
In April 2003, the current partners, Mark Meter and Patrick Martin, took over the reins of the practice, and have seen a huge growth in clientèle.
With a strong emphasis on using up-to-date diagnostic methods and following these up with top-class treatment options, the practice has gone from strength to strength.
We pride ourselves on breaking down the old-school perception that the vet is somehow the most important person in the equation, and recognise the importance of having an honest and trusting client-vet relationship.
The vets at Blaircourt are always available for informal chats on the telephone to reassure owners over individual cases.
Our veterinary care covers all aspects of preventative medicine, such as worming schedules and routine dentistry, to more complicated medical matters such as colic and respiratory disease.
A large proportion of our time is spent working up lame or poorly performing horses.
We have developed an excellent reputation in this field, especially when faced with chronic, low-grade lamenesses.
We have also developed excellent working relationships with the surrounding referral practices
Should we feel it necessary, we may advise referring your horse to one of these hospitals whether it be for emergency colic surgery or further diagnostics, such as scintigraphy or MRI.
Limited Small Animal consultations
We offer a limited small animal veterinary service, we are currently in the process of developing this service - watch this space.

Directions
The best route for horse-boxes is via the Rettendon Turnpike.
Down the A132 towards South Woodham Ferrers.
Left at the second traffic circle signposted Bicknacre, Danbury (B1418).
Proceed up the hill, and after 1 mile, turn right into Crows Lane. The practice is approximately ¼ mile down on the left-hand side.
An alternate route is off the A12 at Junction 18.
Along the A414 towards Danbury.
In the village, turn right at the double roundabout and follow this road for several miles down the hill and in to Bicknacre.
Continue along the B1418.
Approximately 1 mile after leaving Bicknacre, turn left in to Crows Lane.

Out Of Hours Emergency Care
Surgery hours are 9am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday. We operate on an appointment only basis, and always try to be as flexible as possible to cater for your needs. Whenever possible, and within reason, you choose which vet you would like to see, and we strongly advocate continuity in patient care. It is important that the vet and client have a trusting relationship, which we feel is based on continuity over a long period of time.
